Government To Adopt Public Admin Decentralization Strategy

Romanian prime minister Sorin Grindeanu said the government will adopt on Wednesday a strategy to decentralize public administration, leading to better involvement of local authorities.

Turcan Says Liberal Party Failed in Recent Elections

Liberal Party interim president Raluca Turcan said the party failed and nearly hit rock bottom in the parliamentary elections last year due to lack of dialog.

“We ended up there due to massive lack of internal dialog, lack of respect inside the party, a rift between the party central and its base, a rift between reality and people's expectations,” said Turcan.

She added the party risks becoming the smallest large party in Romania.

“At this time, the Liberal Party could regain a partner in president Klaus Iohannis. The president could fulfill his mission for the country if he had a team: presidency, parliamentary majority, government. The president won't be drawing the party's policies,” said Turcan.

“I know people are sick of talk and of roads drawn with markers on whiteboards, of deadlines not being met. There is European money that we didn't know how to spend in the past years,” said Grindeanu.
