Basescu: Grindeanu Cabinet Should Go, It Lost Credibility

PMP president Traian Basescu said late Sunday the Grindeanu Cabinet has lost all credibility after attempting to change the criminal code without public debate and should step down.

“I do not agree with how the Government promoted the decree. They left the impression they were doing something wrong and they actually did. They changed articles that defined incompatibilities and other things,” said Basescu on B1 TV.

He added the cabinet should resign because it is no longer credible. (mediafax.ro)

Bitcoin Hits Record Level of $1,200

Digital currency bitcoin jumped to a record high above $1,200 on Friday, as investors speculated the first bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) to be issued in the United States is set to receive regulatory approval, Reuters reported.

Traditional financial players have largely shunned the web-based "crytpocurrency," viewing it as too volatile, complicated and risky, and doubting its inherent value.

But bitcoin, invented in 2008, performed better than any other currency in every year since 2010 apart from 2014, when it was the worst-performing currency, and has added almost a quarter to its value so far this year.

It soared to as high as $1,200 per bitcoin in early Asian trading on Europe's Bitstamp exchange, before easing to about $1,190.

Some analysts say regulatory approval of a bitcoin ETF would make the currency relatively attractive to the often more cautious institutional investor market. (mediafax.ro)

Crossover Seeks Romanian Programmers

Multinational company Crossover stops in Cluj-Napoca Sunday on a hiring tour that aims to hire programmers.

Gelu Vac, Software Engineering Manager and Crossover Brand Ambassador said Cluj-Napoca was chosen to be part of the hiring tour because it is an IT hub with excellent outlook.

The company hiring tour includes four Eastern European cities. Crossover seeks to hire 20 programmers in each city, out of 200 candidates.

The hiring tour started Saturday in Moscow and hit Cluj on Sunday. This week, the toru continues in Krakow (Poland) and Lvov (Ukraine).
