Hidroelectrica To Exit Insolvency In March 2016 - Fondul Proprietatea Manager

Romania's state owned hydropower producer Hidroelectrica will exit insolvency in March 2016, said Greg Konieczny, manager of Romanian investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO), at the anniversary of five years from the fund’s listing on Bucharest Stock Exchange, on January 25, 2011.

“We believe Hidroelectrica will exit insolvency in March this year and the listing on the stock exchange will take place in the second half of the year,” Konieczny stated.

The manager added that, despite the evolution in the past years, the only way to ensure progress is the listing of new companies.

“Companies like Hidroelectrica, Aeroporturi Bucuresti, Constanta Harbor, Posta Romana and Salrom are viable candidates and we hope to see them listed in 2016 and 2017,” the manager stated. (Evenimentul Zilei)

Liberal, Social-Democrat Candidates For Local Elections Face Legal Or Incompatibility Issues

Some of the liberal and social-democrat candidates for local elections are facing legal issues or incompatibility issues.

Although, pressured by street protests, the representatives of the parties said that their parties will observe the integrity criteria, some of the candidates are trying to trick them, sometimes with the complicity of the parties, which drew up flexible criteria.

For example, PNL candidate for Botosani City Hall, Catalin Flutur, is subject to criminal proceedings for abuse of office since September 2015. Another example would be PNL candidate for Galati City Hall, Nicusor Ciumacenco, who was declared incompatible by the National Integrity Agency (ANI). Last year, Ciumacenco won the case involving the conflict of interests, but ANI appealed the decision at the Supreme Court.  (Evenimentul Zilei)
