Social Democrat Leaders Discuss Toader's Situation Monday

Social democrat leaders meet Monday in to discuss the situation of justice minister Tudorel Toader.

Party leader Liviu Dragnea said the matter was delicate.

He added he wanted coherence and responsibility for the adoption of decrees amending justice laws.

 

Ciolos Urges Dragnea to Say He Wasn't a Secret Service Informant

Dacian Ciolos said he wants Liviu Dragnea to state at his own risk that he and Social Democrat Party leaders never collaborated with the communist secret police or other domestic or foreign secret services.

"Liviu Dragnea, Sebastian Ghita and all the others who for years have been parading around institutions and the secret services they speak of, blaming others for what they do within the party. First of all, I'd like to see Dragnea declare at his own risk that he and Social Democrat Party leaders never collaborated with the communist secret police or other domestic or foreign secret services. That's what we, leaders of PLUS, have done and they need to do it too,” said Ciolos.

He added PSD has done nothing but attack the judiciary and the roman-in state since it came to power to solve its members' problems and Romania is becoming more and more a one-party state.

 

Valcov: I Want Future Central Bank Governor and Board to be Patriots

Darius Valcov, an adviser to the prime minister, said Sunday he wants a team of patriots at the country's central bank.

"Romania has EUR33 billion in reserves and 103 tons of gold. If Romania wanted to borrow EUR33 billion today it would cost about EUR1 billion a year for a ten-year loan, but the central bank  But the central bank manages these reserves, plus gold, and loses EUR80 billion in 2017,” said Valcov on Antena 3.
