Domestic consumption is expected to fuel yet another year of growth, and the Romanian economy is expected to advance 2.8% in 2015, after a similar increase in the year before.

The gross domestic product rose 2.8% last year to 666.6 billion lei (EUR150.1 billion), helped by good performances in the industry and the communication sector.

In the fourth quarter, Romania’s GDP grew 0.7% against the previous quarter in seasonally-adjusted data.

Compared with the same period of 2013, the fourth-quarter GDP was up 2.6% in seasonally-adjusted data and 2.7% higher in non-adjusted data.
