Aon Corporation Appoints New Chief At Romanian Office

International insurance broker Aon Corporation appointed Valentin Tuca at the helm of its Romanian office, in a decision pending regulator approval, people close to the matter said Wednesday.

International insurance broker Aon Corporation appointed Valentin Tuca at the helm of its Romanian office, in a decision pending regulator approval, people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX Wednesday.

Tuca is the former general manager of Clal Romania, now known as Platinum Asigurari. Prior to his position within Clal, Tuca ran the local unit of international insurance broker Marsh.

Earlier this year, Aon Corporation announced that two managers at its Romanian office, Karina Rosu and Valeriu Rosu, decided to give up their top management positions starting May 1, in pursuit of personal projects.

Aon is the largest international insurance broker in the world, with operations in over 120 countries. It has been active in Romania since 2005, when it bought KaRo Servicii de Asigurari, owned by Karina Rosu and Valeriu Rosu.

Aon posted revenue of 11.81 million lei (EUR1=RON4.0858) in Romania in 2009, according to data from insurance oversight body CSA.
