Finance Ministry Plans To Sell RON4.8B Treasuries In May

Romania’s Finance Ministry plans to sell state paper worth 4.8 billion lei (EUR1.17 billion) in May, down from RON6.1 billion sold a month earlier, ministry data showed Thursday.

Romania's Finance Ministry plans to sell state paper worth 4.8 billion lei (EUR1.17 billion) in May, down from RON6.1 billion sold a month earlier, ministry data showed Thursday.

The ministry has scheduled six auctions in May, same as in the previous month.

Three short-term debt sales are expected to bring the ministry a total of RON3.3 billion, while three bond issues are seen raising together RON1.5 billion.

The ministry said it plans to sell debt worth between RON13 billion and RON15 billion in the second quarter of 2011.

So far this year, Romania sold RON21.3 billion in state notes. (EUR1=RON4.0760)
