Low Profit Margin Discourages Insurers From Selling Health Insurance Policies

Damages paid by insurers selling private health insurance policies amount to 90% of underwritten premiums on this segment, while administration expenses reach 5-6%, which explains why only a few insurance companies offer such services, Metropolitan Life head Theodor Alexandrescu said Wednesday.
