Piraeus Bank Romania: Demand For Loans Is Rising

Piraeus Bank, a Greek-held medium-sized player in Romania’s banking system, in January-July 2014 released retail loans matching the value of loans granted in the entire 2013 and reached monthly sales of EUR9-10 million. New sales came to cover reimbursements, but the total volume is still eroded by portfolio cleanup moves.
