Romania Sells RON500M 10-Year Bonds At 7.45% Average Yield

Romania’s Finance Ministry Thursday sold a planned 500 million lei (EUR121 million) worth of 10-year treasury bonds, while the average yield was at 7.45% on the year, slightly higher than at the previous auction.

Banks offered a total of RON1.4 billion, central bank data showed.

At the latest similar auction April 21, the ministry sold roughly RON110 million of 10-year paper, at 7.4% annual average yield.

The ministry sold debt worth RON4.57 billion in May, down from RON6.1 billion sold a month earlier. Additionally, a three-year foreign currency bond auction held May 4 has brought the ministry EUR939.2 million.

So far this year, Romania sold RON26.3 billion in leu-denominated state notes. (EUR1=RON4.1333)
