Romanian Banking Association Elects 2 New Board Members

Romanian Banking Association (ARB) Thursday elected two new members in its Managing Board and approved hiring an executive president.

Romanian Banking Association (ARB) Thursday elected two new members in its Managing Board and approved hiring an executive president.

Laurentiu Mitrache, chief executive officer of Bank Leumi Romania, and Gheorghe Muntean, head of Romanian unit of Banca Italo-Romena are the two new board members of ARB, the association said.

Alpha Bank's head Sergiu Oprescu was elected for a new mandate in the board.

Additionally, ARB has renamed its Board into Managing Board and extended its membership to seven persons, from five previously, president Radu Ghetea told a news conference.

Founded in 1991, ARB is a non-profit organization comprising 41 members active on the local banking market.
