VIG Plans Omniasig-BCR Asigurari Merger To Create Romania's Largest Insurer

After making acquisition after acquisition in recent years, so that it came to own four major Romanian brands it was feeling comfortable with, Austria’s Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) made the surprising decision of cementing domestic operations. VIG wants to create the largest insurer in Romania, with a market share of around 21%, by merging Omniasig with BCR Asigurari.
