Agrana Romania Posts RON19.3M Loss In ’10, Despite Higher Sales

Sugar maker Agrana Romania (BETA.RO) on Wednesday reported a loss of 19.3 million lei (EUR4.7 million) in 2010, compared to a loss of RON1.7 million the year before.

Sales rose 3.2% on the year, to RON631.5 million, from RON612 million in 2009.

Revenue rose last year by 12.4%, to RON675.4 million, while expenditure rose 15.7% to RON694.6 million.

At the end of 2010, the company had debts worth a total RON280 million, compared to RON276.1 million at the end of 2009. Receivables rose to some RON80 million, from RON51 million.

Agrana Romania has a share capital of RON14.4 million, divided into 144.5 million shares with a face value of RON0.1.

The company is 91.12% owned by Austrian Agrana Zucker, while Romanian privatization authority AVAS retained a 4.05% stake.

Agrana shares were last traded on April 8, at a flat price of RON0.59.
