Bucharest Bourse Opens Higher Amid Positive International Sentiment

Bucharest shares opened higher Thursday, tracking the main west European markets, while liquidity increased to 1.06 million lei (EUR261,253), from around RON684,000 a day earlier.

Bucharest shares opened higher Thursday, tracking the main west European markets, while liquidity increased to 1.06 million lei (EUR261,253), from around RON684,000 a day earlier.

At GMT0900, the Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite BET-C was up 0.46% on the day, while 10-share blue-chip index BET increased by 0.55%.

BET-FI, the index tracking the Proprietatea fund and the SIFs, inched up 0.26%.

The wider BET-XT index was gaining 0.48% on the day.

Top-traded issuers early Thursday included lender BRD-Societe Generale (BRD.

RO), top oil company OMV Petrom (SNP.RO), regional investment fund SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) and construction company Concefa Sibiu (COFI.RO).
