Bucharest-traded shares opened Tuesday slightly in the green, on very low activity after the Easter holiday.

At around GMT0748, the Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite index BET-C was up 0.15%, while 10-share blue-chip index BET was inching down 0.02%.

BET-FI, the index tracking the five regional investment funds, or SIFs, as well as investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO), was down 0.56%.

Wider blue-chip tracker BET-XT, which also includes the SIFs, was losing 0.22%, while energy companies index BET-NG was slightly down, at minus 0.04% on the day.

Trades unfolded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange by GMT0751 amounted to 615,797 lei (some EUR149,000).

Popular stock early Tuesday included the Proprietatea fund, SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO), lender Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO), state-owned gas transporter Transgaz (TGN.RO) and medicine maker Ropharma (RPH.RO). (EUR1=RON4.0815)
