Romania’s leu recovered earlier losses against the euro in late trade Friday, amid a positive sentiment in the region, and closed nearly flat at 4.113/4.1155 units, from 4.1115/4.1135 units a day earlier.

The leu opened down at 4.12/4.123 per euro and traded near 4.12 per euro for the first part of the session. It later started to advance, following better-than-expected jobs data in the US.

The Romanian central bank set the leu's reference at 4.1208 per euro, the weakest level in one month.

On the money market, overnight rates fell to 3.5%-4% a year, from 4%-4.5% a year Thursday.
