Leu Reverses Early Gains Vs Euro, Exchange Rate At 4.1184

Romania’s leu lost early gains versus the euro in mid trade Wednesday and the central bank’s reference weakened 0.3% at 4.1184 units, from 4.1051 units a day earlier.

Against the US dollar, the leu's indicative was barely changed on the day at 2.8909 units.

The leu opened slightly up at 4.108/4.111 per euro, from 4.111/4/112 per euro at Tuesday's closing and hit an early high at 4.1075 per euro.

It later reversed trend and at around GMT1000 traded at 4.123/4.125 to the euro.

On the money market, overnight rates were flat at 2.7%-3.2% a year.
