Leu Trades In Ranges Vs Euro, Exchange Rate At 4.0842

Romania’s leu traded in ranges against the euro in mid session Wednesday and the central bank’s reference strengthened modestly to 4.0842 units, from 4.0885 units a day earlier.

Against the US dollar, the leu's indicative won 0.5% on the day at 2.8356 units.

The leu opened higher at 4.085 per euro, from 4.087/4.09 per euro at Tuesday's closing.

At around GMT1000, the leu traded at 4.085/4.087 to the euro, after hitting an early high of 4.0775 to the euro.

On the money market, overnight rates fell to 2.7%-3.2% a year, from 2.9%-3.4% a year Tuesday.
