Leu Widens Loss Vs Euro, Exchange Rate At 4.1127

Romania’s leu extended early losses against the euro in mid trade Wednesday and the central bank’s reference weakened to 4.1127 units, from 4.1073 units a day earlier.

Against the US dollar, the leu's indicative won 0.4% on the day at 2.7652 units.

The leu opened down at 4.111/4.113 per euro, from 4.1055/4.107 per euro at Tuesday's closing.

At around GMT1000, the leu traded at 4.111/4.113 to the euro, after hitting an early low at 4.119 to the euro.

On the money market, overnight rates fell to 4.3%-4.8% a year, from 4.8%-5.3% a year Tuesday.
