Romania’s Finance Ministry plans to issue a three-year foreign currency bond issue on the local market next week, the sixth such debt sale in the last two years, people familiar with the matter said Wednesday.

The ministry is yet to set an indicative target for the issue, but the figures advanced range between EUR500 million and EUR1 billion, the mentioned sources told MEDIAFAX.

They said the bid announcement will most likely be published Friday, while the actual sale will take place on May 4.

Romania sold EUR2.5 billion in two foreign currency auctions in 2010.
