Romania’s leu closed flat against the euro amid a sleepy session Tuesday, unaffected by the negative sentiment in the region after Japanese nuclear regulators have raised the crisis severity to maximum level.

Romania's leu closed flat against the euro amid a sleepy session Tuesday, unaffected by the negative sentiment in the region after Japanese nuclear regulators have raised the crisis severity to maximum level.

The leu closed at 4.108/4.1095 per euro, barely changed from 4.109/411 per euro Monday.

Throughout the session, the leu ranged between a high of 4.108 to the euro and a low of 4.118 to the euro.

Romanian central bank set the leu's reference rate at 4.1152 per euro, slightly weaker on the day.

On the money market, overnight rates were modestly up at 2.8%-3.3% a year.
