Romania’s leu extended its early gains against the euro in mid session Thursday and the central bank’s reference strengthened 0.3% to 4.1021 units, from 4.114 units a day earlier.

Romania's leu extended its early gains against the euro in mid session Thursday and the central bank's reference strengthened 0.3% to 4.1021 units, from 4.114 units a day earlier.

However, the leu lost against the US dollar, as the indicative was set at 2.8447 units, from 2.838 units Wednesday.

The leu opened at 4.103/4.1055 to the euro, little changed from 4.104/4.105 to the euro at closing Wednesday. It gained slightly in the first half of the session and traded at 4.1015/4.1025 per euro at around GMT1000.

On the money market, overnight rates fell to 2.3%-2.8% a year from 2.5%-3% a yearWerdnesday.
