Alro And ArcelorMittal Sacked Off 21,000 Staff Since Privatization

ArcelorMittal Galati and Alro slashed their headcount by 74% and 33%, respectively, since privatization until 2013, with over 21,000 people losing their jobs. However, they are set to benefit from green certificate payment exemptions worth as much as EUR750 million until 2024, pledging to the state only not to lay off more than 25% of their current staff and operate energy efficiency investments.
