Petrom Announces Highest Profit Ever. Austrian Owners Win, Local Economy Loses

Profit chain: Fuels become more expensive. OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) makes higher profit. Austrian-held OMV, which owns 51% in Petrom, makes even more money. The government gains something, too, through higher taxes and dividends. Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the investors on the stock market, theoretically stand to gain, as well.
