Termica Suceava To Use Eco-Pass Money To Buy Coal

Thermal power producer Termica Suceava will use the money obtained by selling greenhouse gas emission certificates to buy coal for heating in the winter of 2011-2012, Suceava mayor Ion Lungu said Tuesday.

"The money obtained by Termica from selling green certificates will mainly be used to buy coal," Lungu told MEDIAFAX.

Termica sold last week green certificates worth EUR1.63 million to commodities trader Vitol.

The transaction was concluded on May 13, on the Romanian Commodities Exchange.

Termica Suceava sold 100,000 certificates for EUR1.63 per unit, nine cents less than the international price on trade day.
