Goldplast, an Italian company specializing in the design, manufacture and distribution of accessories for the hospitality industry, will invest over EUR1 million in a glass production line in Topoloveni, southern Romania.

The new unit will be functional as of September and will have an output capacity of over 4 million glasses a year. The new production line will employ over 20 workers, and ten technicians and one engineer will be trained for maintenance and technological processes.

The company plans to make half a million glasses this year.

Goldplast's main clients are wine manufacturers (Dom Perignon, Veuve Clicqout), restaurants, hotels (Hilton, NCH), catering companies and event organizers, as well as large retailers such as Metro Cash&Carry.

The facility in Topoloveni manufactures and packs over over 900 million units per year of 3,000 types of articles that Goldplast sells in 39 countries.

The company had a turnover of EUR33.6 million in 2016, up 7.7% compared with the previous year, and expects sales to rise in 2017.
