IMF Sees Government Organising Tenders "On TV" To Recruit Managers

05.11.2011 ZF English

The Government is set to conduct transparent international tenders based on the "TV model" to select consultancies that will handle the recruitment of independent professional managers for around 50 state-held companies selected together with the International Monetary Fund, says Mihai Tanasescu, representative of Romania to the IMF.

"Consultants will collect strong CVs for CEO or CFO positions, will analyse them based on the competences required for every company and will come up with shortlists of candidates that the government will be able to choose from," is the mechanism outlined by Tanasescu.

Only this project is not likely to be simple, cheap or very realistic, considering the political endorsement it needs.

According to estimates of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), which includes the world's biggest executive search companies, the executive search company that would win the auction organised by the Government could secure a contract of EUR1.5 million.
