Lactalis Starts To Shut Down LaDorna Plants And Move Equipment Abroad

French-held Lactalis, which paid EUR70 to 90 million in 2008 for the LaDorna business, has closed a cheese factory, several milk collection centers and food storage facilities, and the equipment was moved to a facility that the French company holds in Poland. Some LaDorna products, which used to be made in Romania, are now imported from other countries where Lactalis operates. The information was published in the Official Journal and is the first official indication as to Lactalis’s strategy for the Romanian market three years after its market entry.
