Turkish-owned real estate developer Opus Land will invest nearly EUR20 million this year in the construction of 500 apartments and villas in Cosmopolis residential project in northern Bucharest and a strip mall with a rentable area of 3,500 square meters.

"2015 was a good year, as buyers were more and more determined, given the price stabilization and the improvement of lending offers. We registered a 34% sales growth in Cosmopolis, thus exceeding 1,000 apartments sold in three years,” said Gabriel Voicu, New Homes division manager with Coldwell Banker Affiliates of Romania, manager and exclusive agent of Cosmopolis.

Cosmopolis currently includes 2,100 finalized apartments.

The strip mall, which is 50% preleased, will include, among others, a Carrefour supermarket, a miniPrix store and there restaurants and will be finalized this summer.

The company will also build two outdoor pools, game courts and will continue the development of the project’s infrastructure.

Investments in Cosmopolis have so far reached EUR268 million, in apartment construction, infrastructure, commercial spaces and landscaping.
