Best Year For Supermarkets: 227 Stores Opened In 2012

The major supermarket chains are getting close to 1,000 stores on the local market after having opened 227 in 2012, according to a ZF analysis. Retailers continued to invest hundreds of millions of euros in store openings this year, hoping for growth and for consumer spending improvement in the coming years.
