Consumption Set To Rise In 2014, But Politics Will Dictate Growth Pace

Consumption inched up by 0.4% in 2013, propped by December figures, as Romanians reopened pockets to buy home appliances, furniture and clothes. In January, though, retail sales advanced by almost 6%, a good start for the year, and retail players and analysts predict a stable increase, with no spectacular leaps. However, figures will be dictated by the political environment.
