Construction materials retailer Dedeman launched Thursday its 23rd store, in southwestern Romanian town Drobeta Turnu Severin, following an investment of EUR10 million.

Construction materials retailer Dedeman launched Thursday its 23rd store, in southwestern Romanian town Drobeta Turnu Severin, following an investment of EUR10 million.

The unit has a surface of 11,800 sqm, 170 employees and it will sell 45,000 products.

"Expansion will continue with the launch of a new store mid-summer," company president Dragos Paval said.

The company's investment strategy involves the widening of sales by 10% on the year in 2010, and the launch of 4-5 stores per year, to a total 40 units nationwide, by 2015.

Dedeman, owned by businessmen Dragos Paval and Adrian Paval, posted sales of EUR360 million in 2010, up 42% on the year.
