The retail and wholesale trade, Romania’s biggest „industry” with an annual turnover of nearly RON450 billion (EUR100 billion), registered more than 31,500 new companies in 2016, some 7% more than in 2015, being one of the few economic sectors that saw an increase in the number of new firms.
