Lidl Buys Two Stores From Penny Market In EUR6M-EUR8M Deal

German-held discount store chain Lidl bought two XXL Mega Discount stores in Sibiu and Galati for its direct rival Penny Market, market sources say. The deal comes after the closing of the eight XXL Mega Discount store chain at the end of last year. Six stores will turn into Penny Markets, while two went to Lidl.
