Lidl Comes With New Business Model: Private Labels Fill Store Shelves

Lidl, the German discount-type network that has embarked upon the most extensive foray in Romanian retail, has also brought a new business model. The retailer that currently operates around 110 stores in Romania put Pilos dairy products, Baroni cold cuts or Combino fish, all of them Lidl private labels, on store shelves. Established brands are only sold in stores when customers request it.
