Supermarkets Opened Almost 80 Stores, Invested Up To EUR120M in 2011

Like 2010, this year was the year of supermarkets, after discount chains became the most dynamic segment of modern retail in 2009. This year saw the opening of almost 80 supermarkets, with the most active player on this segment being Mega Image, with 33 stores, followed by Profi with 26 and Carrefour with 13.
