Romania Still Has Room For At Least Another 1,200 Stores In Modern Retail

The average modern retail area per 1,000 inhabitants stands at just 84 square meters in Romania, five times smaller than in Germany and over threefold smaller than in the Czech Republic or Poland. Thus, modern retail players continue pumping hundreds of million euros annually to open new stores on a market that has already reached EUR8 billion and over 1,200 units.
