Romania Industrial New Orders Rise 15% On Month In February

Romanian industrial new orders rose 15% on the month in February, on higher demand in all sectors, and were up 20.4% against the same period a year before, the statistics institute INS said Monday.

New orders in the capital goods sector went up 22.7% in February from a month earlier, the data showed. Orders in the intermediate goods and consumer goods sectors increased 6.8% and 4% on the month, respectively, while demand for durable goods was up 1.9%.

In annual terms, Romanian industrial new orders rose 20.4% in February, the data showed.

New orders for capital goods rose 23% on the year in February, while orders in the durable goods sector were up 22.3%. Orders in the intermediate and consumer goods sectors were up 18.1% and 12.1% on the year, respectively.

In the first two months of 2014, Romanian industrial orders rose 14.7% on the year, helped by rising demand in all sectors.
