Romanian unemployment rate fell to 5.92% in March, from 6.58% a month earlier, the country’s employment agency ANOFM said Wednesday.

A year earlier, Romania's jobless rate was 8.36%.

The total number of unemployed people reached 539,666 in March, down from 600,308 people in the previous month, ANOFM said.

End-March, the number of jobless claims was 231,721, from 285,850 claims a month earlier.
