Romania’s Budget Deficit Down To 0.2% Of GDP In July

Romania’s government deficit narrowed to 0.2% of the gross domestic product after the first seven months, from 0.5% of GDP at the end of June, as budget spending went down.

In January to July, the government spent 121.9 billion lei (EUR27.7 billion), down 0.2% in nominal terms compared with the year earlier period.

On the other hand, budget revenue increased 4.1% on the year toRON120.9 billion in the first seven months, according to Finance Ministry data.

Romania targets a budget deficit of 2.2% of GDP in 2014, slightly narrower from 2.5% of GDP in the previous year. (EUR1=RON4.3964)
