Romania's Forex Reserves Rose Slightly In May To EUR30.2B

Romanian foreign exchange reserves rose by 126 million euros to EUR30.22 billion in May, from EUR30.09 billion in the previous month, central bank data showed Tuesday.

In May, the country registered foreign currency inflows of EUR528 million, from EUR536 million the month before. Outflows totaled EUR402 million, down from EUR1.04 billion in April.

The central bank’s gold holdings were steady at 103.7 metric tons, but their value adjusted for international gold price went up to EUR3.61 billion, from EUR3.59 billion in April.

Romania's overall international reserves were at EUR33.83 billion in May, from EUR33.68 billion in the previous month.

The payments due on public and publicly guaranteed external debt in June amount to some EUR442 million, the data showed.
