EC Assessment of EMA Hosting Offers Shows Bucharest's Lacks Sufficient Transport Info

The European Commission has published its assessment of offers to host the European Medicines Agency currently located in the United Kingdom and Noted Bucharest's offer lacked sufficient transport information.

Bucharest and 18 other European cities, including Vienna, Brussels, Sofia, Bonn, Milan, Lille, and Barcelona have offered to host the EMA.

In its assessment of offers, the Commission said Bucharest indicates Globalworth Campus (27,431 sqm) for the agency premises, which according to the offer will be able to meet EMA requirements on the auditorium, reception area, on-site archiving, physical and IT security and standards and would be available for occupation in stages by September 2018.

 

Under accessibility, the offer submitted by Romania indicates of direct flights between Bucharest International Airport and 23 EU capitals and connecting flights to the rest of EU capitals with a frequency of up to 14 flights per day and public transportation with a duration of less than 16 minutes from the airport to the proposed  buildings, without providing information on the frequency of these public transportation connections.
