Has accession to the European Union brought Romania any palpable advantage? If the question seems nonsensical, let me rephrase it: has Romania in the five years since it joined the EU received more than it gave the Union? Or: could Romania have taken better advantage of the accession than it did? And if it didn’t, why was that the case? What is there to be done from now on?
