Low Teacher Pay Worsens Romania’s Education System Situation

With teachers starting out with a 800 lei (EUR180) net salary per month, 50% the average wage in Romania, half of the 14-year-old school kids are unable to score above the passing grade in Math and Romanian language and only half of the students finishing high-school pass their high-school leaving exam.
