Multifunctional Healthcare Units To Be Set Up In Localities Without Inpatient Hospitals - Draft

05.20.2011 By Ioana Tudor

Romanian local authorities will be allowed to set up multifunctional healthcare centers in communities where there are no inpatient hospitals, according to a bill drafted by the Health Ministry.

The draft act, available for public debates on the ministry's website, amends Government ordinance 70/2002 regarding the administration of county and local interest healthcare units.

According to the act, multifunctional healthcare centers will be administered and financed by county or city hospitals.

They will have between 5 and 20 beds for day treatment, emergency wards, medical testing laboratories and/or radiology labs.
