Romania's Finance Ministry estimates that about 20,000 companies will meet the conditions of government emergency ordinance no. 29/2011 and will thus be able to pay their debts to the state in installments over a few years, state secretary Dan Lazar said Friday.

Romania's Finance Ministry estimates that about 20,000 companies will meet the conditions of government emergency ordinance no. 29/2011 and will thus be able to pay their debts to the state in installments over a few years, state secretary Dan Lazar said Friday.

The 20,000 companies do business in a variety of fields, but they were all affected by the economic crisis, said Lazar.

The ministry expects to recover several hundred million lei (EUR1=RON4.0966) over a number of years, while supporting the economic environment and profitable agents, he said.
