Romania's Government on Monday sought lawmakers' confidence vote to pass a bill capping teachers' wages this year and a new Social Dialog Code, in two consecutive plenary Parliament meetings.

The opposition has three days to submit motions of no-confidence, which would oust the Government if adopted. However, the opposition has said it will not submit such motions and opposition lawmakers did not attend the Parliament meetings.

The opposition said it will contest both bills at the Constitutional Court.
