Romania's integrity agency ANI is checking the wealth of Labor Minister Ioan Botis to establish whether he is in a conflict of interest considering his wife is an adviser to a EU and Government-funded project.

Botis told MEDIAFAX Monday he is in no way tied to the NGO that received EU funds, where his wife works as adviser. He said there is no conflict of interest but he is willing to resign if the issue affects the image of the ruling Democratic Liberal Party.

"Even if there's no conflict of interest, I would be willing to resign if this is considered an issue of morality and affects the party," Botis said.
