Senate Votes In Favor Of Cutting Income Tax To 13% For Pensions, Wages

The Romanian Senate on Wednesday adopted with 50 to 36 votes and two abstentions a bill reducing the income tax to 13% from 16% for pensions and salaries.

The bill, which was put forward by three lawmakers, amends Law 571/2003 regarding the Tax Code.

The Government did not support the draft act, which was rejected by the budget committee.

The Chamber of Deputies is the deciding house for this bill.
