Alina Gorghiu Says Liberal Candidate For Bucharest City Hall Is Already Decided

Liberal MEP Cristian Busoi would only gather 4% of the votes for Bucharest City Hall, according to opinion polls, but, liberal sources say he will remain the PNL candidate for Bucharest City Hall.

Liberals face certain issues in appointing a candidate for Bucharest City Hall, due to the low scores of their candidates who have already been tested in opinion polls. MEP Cristian Busoi ranks first among liberal candidates, according to an Inscop Research poll ordered by PNL in October - November.

Nevertheless, Busoi only got 4.3%, followed by Ludovic Orban (3.6%) and Petre Roman (2.1%). PNL sources said that the party will officially propose Cristian Busoi as PNL candidate for Bucharest City Hal. (Adevarul)

 

Liberals Modify Criteria For Appointing Candidates At 2016 Elections

Liberals modified one of the criteria for appointing the candidates at 2016 elections, namely the criterion on rejecting candidates who are indicted for corruption.

The criterion was amended so that the candidates who are indicted for corruption deeds such as bribery, abuse of office or influence peddling cannot be appointed candidates for the elections.

According to PNL, the candidates should not be former members or collaborators of the communist secret police Securitate, should not be incompatible or in conflict of interest, should not have had xenophobic, racist or chauvinistic declarations or attitudes, debts to the state budget, or be owners of plagiaristic diplomas or degrees. ING Bank Presents New Macroeconomic Forecasts

ING Bank on Monday presented the new macroeconomic forecasts which also include forecasts related to the evolution of the exchange rate.

According to ING Bank analysts, the quantitative easing started by the European Central Bank and the tightening of the monetary policy by Fed, which is anticipated by the market, will lead to a fall of the euro versus the Romanian leu and to the increase of the US dollar versus the leu. 32 MPs Signed Legislative Initiative To Stimulate Prenatal Consultations

32 MPs signed a legislative initiative to stimulate mothers-to be to have prenatal consultations, by offering clothes and baby care products after the child is born.

Although doctors recommend at least eight gynecological consultations before the birth, only one in three women has prenatal consultations, according to the MPs.

According to the initiators of the project, Romania registers record maternal and infant mortality rates. Thus, one woman in 2,600 is dying during the pregnancy period, similar with the values in Iran, compared with the European average of one woman in 8,900.  (Puterea)

 

Health Minister Says Doctors’ Salaries Should Be In Line With Professional Education

Health Minister Patriciu Achimas-Cadariu considers that the salaries of the medical staff should be in accordance with their professional education and training and that the 25% wage hike applied on October 1 is only the first step in this respect.

Achimas-Cadariu on Monday met with the representatives of the healthcare federation SANITAS, and had talks related to the unitary pay law, the unblocking of positions, the granting of meal vouchers to all categories of healthcare personnel, and the situation of the personnel in the public health departments.(Adevarul)
